Reckless driving and driving under the influence were the charges after a motorcyle rider tried to pass on the right and slid off of State Route 105 South of Westport yesterday. The Washington State Patrol reports the 37-year-old Yakima man was riding a 2002 Yamaha North on 105 when he passed another vehicle at high speeds near the Twin Harbor’s State Park. He lost control of the bike and it slid off the road coming to rest in the ditch just before 6:30 Tuesday evening.

The rider was transported to Community Hospital in Aberdeen with undisclosed injuries and cited for reckless driving and DUI.
