Three people were arrested and two people treated for gunshot wounds after a shooting incident in Aberdeen over the weekend. Lt. Dale Green with the Aberdeen Police Department said that detectives do not believe it was a random act, and that evidence leads them to believe that the parties were familiar with each other.
Police officers were called to the 1000 block of Ash Street just after 4 am Sunday morning to the report of two subjects shot. They located a 21-year-old Hoquiam woman and a 26-year-old Hoquiam man in the backyard of a with firearm injuries.
While Aberdeen Officers investigated the scene, Hoquiam Officers quickly located the suspect’s vehicle driving west on Cherry Street in Hoquiam. As they attempted to stop the car as a subject fled on foot, a police K9 from the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office responded along with a Cosmopolis Police Officer and additional sheriff’s deputies.
All three men were arrested for investigation of Robbery 1st Degree. a 39-year-old Hoquiam man and a 29-year-old Aberdeen man were in the car. The runner, a 34-year-old Aberdeen man, surrendered when K9 arrived.
The shooting victims were treated at the scene by Paramedics with the Aberdeen Fire Department and transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Aberdeen Police Detectives processed the suspect vehicle, the crime scene, and the residence for evidence. A Washington State Patrol narcotics police K9 assisted Aberdeen Detectives in their evidence searches.
