A tanker truck rolled onto its side along State Route 107 near Montesano yesterday, closing the highway for 14 hours yesterday afternoon. The Washington State Patrol reports the 2014 Peterbilt with a Tanker trailer was heading towards Montesano when it left the road to the right, struck a dirt embankment and rolled onto its side blocking the Northbound lanes near the Blue Slough Road just after 1 P.M. Thursday.
A 51-year-old Port Orchard man was transported from the scene to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen with undisclosed injuries. A detour to the Blue Slough Road was in place for over 12 hours yesterday while crews cleaned up the scene.
The accident report says no drugs or alcohol were involved, a cause and any charges stemming from the accident remain under investigation. Grays Harbor Fire District #2 crews were on standby at the scene for several hours Thursday. The tweet below from WSP Trooper Russ Winger may sound misleading.
