A Tacoma woman was arrested on Driving Under the Influence, Malicious Mischief, and Hit and Run charges Wednesday after she was seen driving her car through several lawns in Aberdeen.

Officer Jason Capps said in a press release that her car was reported driving on the grass near Sam Benn Park around 6:30 Wednesday evening. When an officer tried to pull over her Subaru Baha in the 1600 block of 6th Street, she drove up onto the sidewalk before stopping.

The 47-year-old exhibited signs of impairment and was taken into custody for Driving Under the influence. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had struck multiple signs at the Aberdeen High School and had damaged the grass on school property. A video posted to Facebook showed the car driving erratically on the grass in front of the school before driving along the sidewalk and striking a sign off-camera.

The suspect was booked into the Aberdeen Jail on the charges of Driving Under the Influence, Malicious Mischief 3rd Degree, and for Hit and Run unattended property damage.
