Distracted driving was the cause of an accident that sent one to the hospital early this morning. The Washington State Patrol tells us a 35-year-old Aberdeen woman was driving her 2000 Ford Focus East on U.S. Route 12 when she spilled her drink and attempted to recover it. The car left the road to the right and struck a tree about 3 miles West of Oakville.

The woman was treated at the scene for undisclosed injuries, and charged with “Driving with wheels off roadway,” her car was listed as totalled.
