A 44-year-old South Bend man was pronounced dead at the scene of a motorcycle wreck 8 miles South of South Bend yesterday afternoon. The Washington State Patrol report said a Chaplain notified next of kin to Alexander Shine of South Bend last night. Trooper Conrad reported that Shine was riding a 1992 Yamaha XJ600 motorcycle South, at high speeds, on US Route 101. The bike left the road to the right near Bone River and struck a guardrail.

It was unknown at the time of the report if drugs or acohol were involved. The investigation blocked then slowed traffic through the area for several hours last night while State Patrol investigators worked at the scene.
