An unsecured load appears to be the cause of a motorcycle wreck on U.S. Route 101 yesterday North of Hoquiam. The Washington State Patrol reports a 22-year-old Florida man was riding a 2013 Yamaha 2100RS North on 101 when a sleeping bag fell off of his bike and tangled in the rear wheel around 12:30 pm Thursday afternoon. Sgt. Conroy reports that the wheel locked up and caused the rider to lay down the bike near the Larson Brothers Road 12 miles North of Hoquiam.
The rider was transported to GH Community Hospital in Aberdeen with undisclosed injuries.
A cause and any charges stemming from the accident are under investigation.
