The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office initiated a search last night for a 46-year-old transient with ties to Grays Harbor. Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Shumate said this morning that Nathaniel has been located alive and well. Nathaniel “Nate” Rath was dropped off in the area of Cougar Smith Road near Muller Road (north of Brady, WA) on Wednesday afternoon, 09/14/16. Nathaniel was going mushroom picking by himself, however, he did not arrive at his scheduled return location.

Family members searched for Nathaniel without success and then contacted the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office Friday to report him missing.

Shumate said that crews conducted searches Friday to search the area Nathaniel was last seen. An update this morning said that he apparently did make it back to his scheduled return spot and apparently left a note that he was going to Tumwater. Unfortunately the note was not seen.

While the search had been called off once nightfall came, it was scheduled to resume this morning. Nathaniel called in at about midnight last night.
