The Washington State Patrol is investigating after a semi truck jacknifed its trailer on the Westport highway and struck a pedestrian flagging for nearby road construction Thursday morning.

Trooper Blake reports that a 57-year-old Pendleton Oregon man was driving a 2001 Peterbilt with a 1983 Fruehauf trailer toward Aberdeen on State Route 105 when he entered a curve in a construction zone at an unsafe speed. The trailer brakes locked up and the trailer slid into the Department of Transportation flagger 3 miles outside of Aberdeen. The driver was unaware that he struck the flagger, and continued into Aberdeen where he was later located. The flagger was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen with undisclosed injuries.

Family members of the 49-year-old Hoquiam man report to the Facebook group Grays Harbor Scanner that he is at home with a broken arm and bruised ribs as well as other bumps and bruises.
