The National Weather Service has revised their forecast for the Satsop River. Large runoff from the heavy rains in the mountains Monday night and Tuesday will push the Satsop River above moderate flood stage early Wednesday morning

Forecast flooding increased from Minor to Moderate severity The Flood Warning continues for The Satsop River near Satsop until late tonight.

At 11:15 PM Tuesday the stage was 35.8 feet. Flood stage is 34.0 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.

* Forecast…The river will continue to rise and crest near 36.5 feet around 4 AM Wednesday. The river will fall below flood stage this evening.

* Impact…At 36.0 feet…the Satsop River will flood…inundating farms…roads…and some residential areas. Erosion will likely damage some areas along the river.

The Chehalis River

The Chehalis River has risen past Flood Stage of 21 feet. It is now 21.31 feet and expected to crest at 22.12 feet at 4pm Thursday, Nov 19. It will slowly recede @ 10pm on Fri Nov. 20th

At 22 feet, the Chehalis River in Grays Harbor will flood pasture lands and many roads…including SR 12 between Oakville and Rochester. High tidal levels at Aberdeen will worsen flooding along the lower reaches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Do not drive cars…vans…or trucks through flooded areas…this is the cause of most flood related deaths in Washington. Be alert for rapid changes and monitor developments by listening to NOAA Weather radio or other local media.
