The Salvation Army yesterday collected a record-breaking grand total of just over 35-thousand dollars at their 16th annual Kettle Klash.
“Total was $35,079.25” luncheon MC Leroy Tipton also applauded the groups that collected the most yesterday. He said the top contributor, “…is Grays Harbor Lions Clubs with 14,400-and [inaudible].”
The event hosted at Harbor City Church in Aberdeen is a big start to their season. Local businesses and non-profits empty their pockets into the red kettles which are tallied during the luncheon kicking things off with tens of thousands of dollars for the organization, and this year was no exception.
Bell-ringing in front of your favorite local stores begins November 29th. The Salvation Army is always looking for groups that want to tend a kettle at one of those businesses. Contact Jennifer Chuks at 360-533-1062, extension 105 for details.
