A Salt Lake City, Utah man was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen as a precaution yesterday after police say his truck left the road and drove into a ditch along the Westport highway. The Washington State Patrol reports the 73-year-old man was driving a 2013 Toyota 4-Runner North on State Route 105 when it left the road to the right and came to rest partially submerged in a ditch at milepost 47, near Charlie Creek Road.
The State Patrol report said the vehicle had been reported as driving erratically prior to the accident. Drugs or alcohol were thought to be involved in the collision. The man was reported as not injured, but was transported by aid to the hospital as a precaution.
Trooper Blake reported the cause remains under investigation, and that charges could be pending that outcome.
