Police in Elma are investigating two separate smash-and-grab-style burglaries at two separate businesses in the past three days. Chief Susan Shultz said that someone broke out the front window of the Elma Mini Mall at 1509 West Main street just before 3 am this morning. The suspects rifled through food and the register before leaving with tobacco products.

Investigators have also posted photos on the Elma Police Department’s Facebook page of three subjects who burglarized the Slates Corner Grocery Store early Monday morning.

Shultz said she plans to dedicate extra resources to finding the burglars, whether the incidents are related or not. She advised citizens to keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates and photos from the burglaries.

We shared these photos earlier this week, police are still sorting footage from this morning and do not yet know if the incidents are related.
Shultz said that any information on either case is greatly appreciated, please call the Elma Police Department at (360)482-3131.
