In light of the “Stay Home-Stay Healthy” order issued yesterday by Governor Jay Inslee, the Pacific County Emergency Operations Center would like to request that all citizens please do your best to comply and do your part to honor the order. The guidance contained within this order is critical to limiting the spread of COVID-19 and it will also help to lessen the chance of infections. Our civic responsibility to stay home and stay healthy as a community could mean life or death for our fellow citizens.

Some key points to the Governor’s order were that it will require us to stay at home unless we are pursuing an essential activity like shopping for groceries, going to a necessary doctor’s appointment, or going to work at an essential business. The order bans all gatherings of people for social, spiritual and recreational purposes. This applies to every type of gathering including some of the most meaningful gatherings within our community such as weddings and funerals. The order will also close all businesses except listed essential businesses within the order. If your business is deemed non-essential and you would like to start the application process to apply to be an essential business please email [email protected].

All businesses other than those deemed essential (a long list that includes things like grocery stores, pharmacies, banks and gas stations) will have to be closed by Wednesday night. All public and private social, spiritual and recreational gatherings are also now banned. The order’s prohibition on gatherings and leaving home unless necessary takes effect immediately. People will be required to stay home unless they are pursuing essential activity like shopping for groceries, going to doctor’s appointments or going to work at essential jobs.

It is important to note that people can still go outside and go for walks or runs if they maintain a six foot distance from other people. People DO NOT need permission slips to travel to or participate in essential functions in accordance with the order. If you notice noncompliance of the

Order and you wish to report it please contact either number listed below for the emergency operations center. Our goal is to educate. A copy of the order is attached and contains a link that explains what essential businesses are.
