A brief chase this morning ended in the arrest of a Pacific Beach man after he tried to run from a Grays Harbor County Sherrif’s Deputy. Lt. Brad Johansson said it started when a deputy in Oakville ran a registration check on a vehicle just before 2 AM, a standard practice for police to check that the car is properly licensed. This vehicle came back stolen out of Renton.
The deputy positioned his vehicle behind the suspect’s and the car took off at high speeds toward Rochester before he turned on his lights. Johansson said the deputy gave chase and just East of Rochester the man jumped out of the car while it was still rolling.
The 32-year-old Pacific Beach man was quickly apprehended on foot by the deputy.
