An Oregon man was arrested in Aberdeen yesterday after police caught him breaking in to the Les Schwab Store. Police Captain John Green tells us at about 2:08 A.M. Thursday morning an Aberdeen Officer responded to the Les Schwab store in the 2600 block of Simpson Ave. on the call of an alarm activation.
Officers responded to the scene and were assisted by a Hoquiam PD officer.
A perimeter was set up and officer observed a subject inside the store. An exterior window to the business was found to be broken out.
Officers reported that the lone adult male suspect came out of the business with his hands up. He then ran from the location, heading North.
It was reported that the suspect ran into the Dollar Store parking lot, tripping over a curb. Officers went to arrest the suspect and put him into handcuffs. After overcoming the suspects physical resistance to the officers commands, the suspect was handcuffed and placed under arrest.
The suspect, a 52 year old Gresham OR male was taken to GHCH for treatment of abrasions he received when he tripped on the curb. He was then transported to the City of Aberdeen Jail where he was booked for Burglary in the Second degree.
He is currently at the GHSO Jail in Montesano awaiting charging.
The investigation is continuing.
