UPDATE: A 37 year old Montesano man was transported from the scene to Willapa Harbor Hospital, his brother reports he suffered some scrapes and bruises but was otherwise OK.
Traffic is backed up in downtown Raymond this morning, a log truck collided with a large I-Beam that was the cargo on another truck. The Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident. Pat Matlock with the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office tells us one person was extricated from the log truck and transported to a nearby hospital, he was not certain of the condition of the other driver at the time. More details are expected from the Washington State Patrol who has taken over the accident scene.
Matlock said this morning “One of the vehicles involved was a commercial vehicle towing a 100 foot girder for a bridge that they’re building on State Route 6, and there’s another one of those backed up as well. Traffic Westbound from SR 6, South to 101 is touch and go. Northbound traffic on 101 from 6 is pretty clear but the whole intersection is blocked. It’s going to be probably a significant amount of time.” Matlock said the investigation of the wreck may take a while, drivers should plan for extra travel time in that area.
