A wreck on the Chehalis River Bridge Sunday afternoon shut down Northbound traffic for several hours after a car drove the wrong way up the bridge and collided head-on with another car around 4:30 PM Sunday. A witness said the car drove very fast the wrong way up the bridge and struck the car.
Police were diverting both Northbound lanes over the State Street offramp until around 9 PM Sunday night.
Sergeant Andy Snodgrass with the Aberdeen Police Department reports a 2008 Mustang collided with a 2000 Taurus near the Heron street intersection. A 44-year-old Lacey man and a 25-year-old Port Orchard man were transported to Community Hospital in Aberdeen, treated for undisclosed injuries and released.
The Lacey man driving the Mustang was later booked into the Aberdeen city jail for investigation of vehicular assault.
