A domestic violence assault suspect surrendered to police this morning after a 7-hour manhunt south of McCleary where victims reported a man fired a gun at their vehicle in the 200 block of Sand Creek Road.

Undersheriff Brad Johansson said the incident was reported just before 6 PM Wednesday evening. The victims were not injured and left the area. Neighbors in the area were evacuated while law enforcement searched the area, no injuries were reported. The man surrendered to the Crisis Response Unit around 1:15 this morning.

The 30-year-old was booked into the Grays Harbor County jail in the investigation of Assault in the 1st degree Domestic Violence charges.

Johansson said the Crisis Response Unit, with officers from Aberdeen, Hoquiam, Montesano, Cosmopolis and the Sheriffs Office, was also assisted by Washington State Patrol Troopers and their aviation unit.
