The Ocosta School Board has recently announced the hiring of Heather Sweet as the Ocosta School District Superintendent pending contract negotiations. A press release from Superintendent Kurt Hilyard said that she will begin her duties on July 1st.

Heather started in the school district eleven years ago, as the Elementary Principal, and currently is the District’s Teaching & Learning/Special Services Director. She completed her Superintendent endorsement, from Washington State University, in 2017.

 

Current Superintendent, Kurt Hilyard plans to retire after thirty-three years as a superintendent and thirty-eight years overall in the education field. He plans to relocate closer to family in Port Orchard, Washington.
