Police are investigating a burglary at the North Beach Community TV studios in Ocean Shores. It was reported yesterday afternoon, sometime between yesterday and Monday someone had broken into the building next to the Ocean Shores Lion’s club and stolen thousands of dollars in broadcast and camera equipment.
North Beach TV is a non-profit and volunteer-based provider of local content on Coast Communications Channel 68. The member of the station’s technical crew that would provide details on the broadcast-quality cameras was out of town, but you’d know one if you saw it.
They posted the following to their Facebook page Wednesday morning:
On Monday night or possibly early Tuesday morning, someone (probably more than one) broke-in to the TV studio and stole all of our cameras, tripods and video recording equipment. North Beach Community TV is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that has served the people of Ocean Shores since 1982. The equipment stolen was quite valuable to us and was our primary means of recording community events for local broadcast and other sources of distribution. If anyone has information or saw anything unusual in the area on Monday night or very early Tuesday morning, please contact the Ocean Shores Police Department. The person or persons that stole from us also stole a valuable resource from our community. Please bear with us while we try to rebuild this valuable resource and return to serving the North Beach Community. -Bill Vandenbush
Anyone with information, or who knows someone trying to sell a rather large camera, please call Ocean Shores Police at 360-289-3331
