A rider was injured and cited for reckless driving after losing control of his motorcycle on the Westport Highway Saturday evening. The Washington State Patrol report said a 20-year-old Aberdeen man was riding a 2007 Yamaha YZF-R6 sportbike East on State Route 105 at a high rate of speed. He lost control just past the Westport Y gas station and laid the bike on its side. Both rider and bike came to rest on the highway around 6:45 PM Saturday.
The rider was transported to Community Hospital in Aberdeen with undisclosed injuries, the bike was released to friends at the scene.
