Miller Junior High School students will be moving into their new classrooms later this month. “Great news!” Aberdeen School District Superintendent Dr. Alecia Henderson told the board at their meeting last night, “We are moving forward and we now have a date for move-in which is October 14th – which is less than two weeks.” The announcement brought applause from the room of teachers and administrators.

Henderson also commended those involved in the project, “Certainly Alissa Lowderback and Mike Pauley for their leadership in this construction project as well as Lisa Griebel – Joan Hane at the Junior High for working with the faculty and certainly the faculty because there’s going to be some movement around, we’ve got to move back.”

The district moved their 6th-grade classes to the Junior High school this year to cut down on elementary class sizes. Henderson said last Summer that with the modular building in place the plan is to keep all of the 6th and 7th Grades at Miller. Half of the 8th Grade will be housed in four outside classrooms on the north side of Stevens Elementary nearby, taught by Laura Carle, Matt Harless, Sally Holt and Mike Tageant.
