A Humptulips woman died when the vehicle she was driving failed to negotiate a curve and struck an embankment along US Highway 101 Tuesday evening. The Washington State Patrol report was not clear on whether the family of the 29-year-old had been notified.

The wreck was reported at 7:06 pm, a 2012 Volkswagon Jetta driving north on 101 left the road to the right on a soft curve at milepost 111. The car traveled approximately 200 feet through brush then vaulted over a ravine and struck an embankment.

The report said that the only occupant was wearing her seatbelt improperly and it was unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.

The Washington State Patrol tweeted last night “No others involved,” troopers were on scene investigating until around 10 pm Tuesday.
