A Hoquiam woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a car vs semi truck collision North of Raymond Friday morning. Washington State Patrol Trooper J. Mullins notified the family of the passing of 64-year-old Vicky L. Johnson today.

She was driving a 2015 Nissan Rogue South on 101 when she was struck by the trailer of an oncoming semi truck at 10:10 am Friday morning. Johnson was declared deceased at the scene. The 62-year-old Toledo, Oregon man driving the semi-truck was not injured.

The State Patrol said the wreck is under investigation. Drugs or alcohol are not thought to be a factor in the wreck.

Johnson was the Senior Nutrition Coordinator at the Coastal Community Action Program.

Having worked with her personally, I can say that the community suffered a huge loss with this tragic accident.
