The city of Hoquiam may soon allow Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicles on city streets. Outgoing Councilman John Pellegrini said during the council meeting last week, “I was approached by one of my constituents. He brought up the subject of licensing ATV’s for use in areas of the city.”

Pellegrini said that the WATV’s would need be street legal and would be limited to designated city streets where the speed limit is 25 mile per hour or less. He suggested the public safety committee review current and neighboring policies before making a suggestion to the council.

Grays Harbor County adopted their WATV Ordinance in 2015, designating the ATV’s legal on specific roads detailed on the 09.2016 WATV Map.

The Hoquiam Council directed the public safety committee to review the idea, we should hear more in the coming months.
