A 38-year-old Hoquiam man is in jail this morning after he and his girlfriend tried to run from a Hoquiam officer last night. Sgt. Brian Dayton said he was conducting routine radar watch on Riverside Avenue just before 9 PM Thursday night when he spotted a truck associated with a man wanted on felony warrants out of Grays Harbor County.

When Dayton activated his lights the driver, the man’s girlfriend, sped off. Dayton said he gave chase and was able to box in the truck with his police cruiser near the 200 block of Jefferson Street.

The Hoquiam man jumped out and fled on foot for about a block before Dayton caught up and took him into custody. The man complained of seizure symptoms and was treated at Grays Harbor Community Hospital before being booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on drug and weapons-related warrants.
