One person was injured one died at the scene of a single-vehicle wreck on State Route 109 near the Iron Springs Resort North of Copalis Beach over the weekend. The Washington State Patrol reports officers have notified next-of-kin to 26-year-old Meaghann Price Shipe of Centralia. She was a passenger in a 2004 Nissan Sentra driven by Daniel E. Roach, 27, of Hoquiam. Their car was Northbound on 109 when it left the road to the right and struck multiple trees just before 1 AM Saturday morning.
The accident report said drugs or alcohol were involved. After being transported to Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Roach was booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on the investigation of vehicular homicide.
