A high wind watch remains in effect through Tuesday morning near beaches and headlands for the South Washington coast…as well as the North and central Oregon coast.

South to Southeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 65 mph. Coastal communities may see Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph from tonight until about noon on tuesday.

The National Weather Service in Portland reports locations include: lincoln city, newport, cape foulweather, yachats, cannon beach, netarts, pacific city, long beach, and cape disappointment

The winds may produce local wind damage that might lead to local power disruptions. The winds will also likely cause travel problems for trucks, trailers, and other high profile vehicles.

A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. sustained winds of at least 40 mph, or gusts of 58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
