Grays Harbor County was declared a major disaster area as a result of the August 29th Windstorm this summer. Chuck Wallace, Deputy Director of the Grays Harbor County Emergency Management Agency said “we received our Presidential Declaration on 15 October 2015. The official Declaration number is 4242-DR-WA.”

The Washington State Emergency Management Division will be conducting a joint FEMA/State Applicant briefing in the very near future. Once the date and location have been determined, you will be notified by Grays Harbor Emergency Management.

The briefing will inform eligible applicants on how to apply for Federal assistance from FEMA for reimbursement from costs incurred from the windstorm. The applicants will be provided an explanation of what the FEMA categories are and what may be eligible for reimbursement. The briefings are open to State Agencies, Local Municipalities, Fire Districts, Special Purpose Districts, School Districts and Private/Public Non-Profit Groups.
