The Grays Harbor Community Foundation is excited to announce Capacity Building grant opportunities to local nonprofit organizations. The Foundation offers a quarterly discretionary grants cycle that is open to all local nonprofits, but Capacity Building is about strengthening management infrastructure and governance in organizations. The Capacity Building grants cycle will be open through 3rd quarter exclusively and awards will be up to $5,000. Executive Director, Eric Potts said “The Foundation is very interested in nonprofit capacity building because we believe that strengthening nonprofits ultimately strengthens the entire community.”
Capacity Building services are distinguishable from direct program services, general operating support or capital expenses in that they typically seek to increase the knowledge, skill level and/or efficiency of a nonprofit organization, board and/or staff. The Foundation describes Capacity Building grants as strategic investments in organizations that increase its sustainability and effectiveness.
