Repairs are coming to Basich Boulevard behind Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. Councilman Nathan Kennedy read from the Agenda during last night’s council meeting as they adopted the public works report, “With Roglin’s Inc. for $575-thousand for [the] reconstruction of the slide-damaged portion of Basich Blvd.”

Mayor Pete Schave said before the vote, “With the passage of this report we could be actually starting the project within less than a week even.”

The road was blocked off by city crews in late December after the ground began to settle, by early January a slide took out both lanes and the sidewalks.

The Aberdeen Public Works Department said at the time that repairs will likely require stabilization of the ground and reconstruction of the roadway embankment, utilities, and road surface.
