Driver inattention is the reported cause of an accident in Ocean City that sent a pickup into a tree, and a driver to the hospital this morning. The Washington State Patrol reports that a 60-year-old Ocean City woman was transported to Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Her 1999 Ford Ranger was entering the tight corner of Southbound State Route 109 near milepost 18 around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday when it was rear-ended by a 2014 Dodge Pickup driven by a 66-year-old Ocean Shores man.

Trooper Mullins reported that the woman’s pickup was pushed into the Southbound ditch and struck a tree after the impact.

The cause of the accident was reported as driver inattention, charges were not listed, but could be pending.
