An exciting concert is coming to Hoquiam soon. The renowned Dallas Brass, one of America’s foremost musical ensembles will perform in the Hoquiam High School gym Wednesday, October 21, at 7:00 PM. Since its founding in 1985 by Michael Levine the Dallas Brass has dazzled and entertained audiences across America and around the world. The group has established a unique blend of traditional brass instruments with a full complement of drums and percussion, which creates a performing entity of extraordinary range and musical challenges. The Dallas Brass repertoire includes classical masterpieces, Dixieland, swing, Broadway, Hollywood and patriotic music.

Hoquiam is hosting the event and has invited harbor area school bands to help promote and participate in the Dallas Brass ‘Music In Our Schools’ program. The Dallas Brass are committed to music education and work with school musicians in regions as they tour. In addition to the evening concert Grays Harbor area band students will have face-to-face interaction in a clinic session with the professional musicians. A select few students from each school will have the unique opportunity to rehearse then perform a selection on stage with the Dallas Brass at the evening concert.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this outstanding production. Band students from Hoquiam, Aberdeen, Montesano, Elma, Quinault and Willapa Valley are selling tickets to raise funds to cover the Dallas Brass event fee. Tickets sell for $10 in advance. At the door tickets adult tickets will be $15, student and seniors $10, and children in 5th grade or younger will be $5.
