A couple of local organizations are sponsoring courses to keep fisherman in Westport safe at sea. The Washington Sea Grant, the Washington Dungeness Crab Fishermen’s Association, and the Quinault Tribe are co-sponsoring a Coast Guard Approved First Aid at Sea Course for commercial fishermen and charter boat operators.
Participants will learn CPR, patient assessment, hypothermia, cold water near drowning, shock, trauma, burns, fractures immobilization, First Aid Kits and more.
