The Grays Harbor Council of Governments (GHCOG) and City of Cosmopolis are working with a consultant team* to develop a strategy for revitalizing vacant and underutilized properties to stimulate investment. We are seeking input from business/property owners, community representatives, residents, and other stakeholders to identify economic development opportunities, prioritize City initiatives/projects, and create a vision for the future of the Cosmopolis waterfront and downtown areas.

Public Meeting information:
• Date: Monday, April 29, 2019
• Time: 6:30pm – 8:00pm
• Location: Cosmopolis Fire Station – 111 D Street, Cosmopolis
• Parking: Onsite parking is available at the corner of C Street and 2nd Street.

About the Project: In 2017, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded $600,000 in Brownfield Assessment Grants to a Coalition led by the GHCOG and supported by the cities of Cosmopolis, Aberdeen and Hoquiam.

A portion of the grant funds are being used to prepare an economic development strategy for Cosmopolis to attract new investment and support reuse/revitalization of underutilized properties for community benefit. Funds will also be used to perform environmental assessments on catalyst sites to facilitate property transactions and redevelopment, prepare an inventory of opportunity sites in Cosmopolis, and facilitate community engagement.
