The Aberdeen Police Department has made an arrest in the investigation of a fight at the Northwest Passage earlier this month that sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries.
Detective Sgt. Art Laur said that the investigation conducted by members of the Aberdeen Police Department led to the arrest of a 21 year-old Hoquiam resident on Monday. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Aberdeen Police Department where he is being held on the charge of Assault in the 1st degree (a felony).
During the course of this investigation, numerous witnesses came forward or were located and interviewed by detectives. The Aberdeen Police Department would like to thank the members of our community who came forward and provided necessary details and information which helped lead to this arrest.
Laur said that the fight happened around 1:00am Sunday morning September 13th, arriving officers found an unresponsive man lying in the road surrounded by several people. Witnesses gave conflicting stories about the man that night.
The 24 year old Aberdeen man, was transported to Community Hospital, and remains in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center.
