All fishing from Grays Harbor’s North Jetty to its South Jetty and related tributaries is closing tomorrow. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced the closure of Grays Harbor Catch Area 2-2 is for all species is effective October 30th, and until further notice. The department said that in-season run size assessments conducted by WDFW indicate that coho run sizes are significantly below pre-season forecasts. Conservation objectives may not be achieved for coho if this action is not taken.

Affected rivers include Humptulips, Hoquiam, Wishkah, Chehalis, Wynoochee, Satsop, Black, Skookumchuck, Newaukum, Johns and Elk rivers, and Van Winkle Creek.

Marine Area 2-2 includes Grays Harbor east of a line from the tip of the north jetty to the south jetty.
