A 19-year-old Aberdeen girl died at the scene of a single-vehicle wreck near the Elma fairgrounds after police say she tried to outrun a Washington State Patrol car Friday morning. The report said that she wasn’t wearing her seatbelt in the 2008 Subaru Impreza as it sped away from the cruiser with lights activated in the Westbound lanes of State Route 8 near Milepost 6 at 8 AM Friday.

She continued for about 5 miles before attempting to pass a chip truck, the car left the road to the left near Fairgrounds Road and rolled several times, ejecting the driver. She was declared dead at the scene.
