Aberdeen Police Chief Steve Shumate swore in their new Animal Control Limited Code Enforcement Officer, Kris Sidor, this week. A press release from the Aberdeen Police Department said Kris has been with them as the Animal Control Shelter Custodian for 20 years.

The position was listed with the city last summer, but Shumate spent extra time crafting changes to the job description so that the animal control officer could now also be armed. The city’s previous animal control officer for many years Mike Roble, passed away unexpectedly last summer.

Kris will be attending the 80 hour Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission Animal Control Officer class next month.

Shumate added, “Congratulation to Kris on her new assignment and we look forward to having her taking on this new expanded position.”
