An Aberdeen man is in custody after reports that he was trying to drive his full-size truck over his son on a bicycle yesterday. Lieutenant Kevin S. Darst with the Aberdeen Police Department reports that at 6:17 PM Tuesday, officers were called to the 600 block of Duffy Street in Aberdeen for a report of a father trying to run over his son who was on a bicycle.

Darst said that multiple witnesses saw the suspect, who had an argument with his 15 year old son, drive after his son, who took off on his bicycle. The father, driving a full-sized Chevy pick-up, chased down his son and struck the back of the bicycle causing the boy to fall off of his bicycle. The boy did not have any apparent injuries according to the witnesses.

The boy and the father left the scene prior to the officers arriving. The officers investigated the case and determined that there was probable cause to arrest the father for on a Reckless Endangerment, Domestic Violence charge.

A short time later, the officers located the suspect, and booked him into the jail without further incident.
