A man apparently assaulted a driver through his window this afternoon. Aberdeen Police Captain John Green tells us they responded to the area of Market and B street on 2/24/15 at 12:54 P.M. on the report of a man stabbing the head of a driver of a car that was at the location. It was reported that the victim had left the area in a car that he was driving. Aberdeen Patrol Officers and Detectives responded to the area.

Witnesses told the responding officers that they saw and heard a car stop rapidly while turning North bound onto B street from Market street. They said a man on foot had gone out into the street right in front of the car, causing the car to come to a quick stop.

Officer were then told by the witnesses, that the man on foot, went up to the drivers side of the car and hit the driver in the head with a knife. It was found out later that the victim left the area in his car and went home. The victim reported the incident to the police from there. The victim received a severe laceration to the area of his ear.

The witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect. An Aberdeen Patrol Officer viewed video from the Market St. 7-11. A Aberdeen Detective located a male matching the description in the 300 block of E. Market street. The suspect, a 48 year old Aberdeen male, was positively identified and then arrested for Assault in the Second degree. He was transported to the City of Aberdeen Jail where he was booked without incident.

The investigation is continuing.
