The 7th Street Kids will be presenting Matilda the Musical August 1-4 at the 7th St Theater in Hoquiam Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows are at 7:30, Sunday matinee at 2:00.

Like Matilda herself, Matilda the Musical is smart, a bit sassy, and very charming. Based on Roald Dahl’s book of the same name, Matilda is the story of a little girl with a special power, whose crass and cruel parents send her to a school run by the even meaner Miss Trunchbull. Miss Trunchbull delights in punishing children who don’t follow the rules, tossing them in the “chokey” if they really annoy her. All is not terrible, however, because Matilda’s teacher, Miss Honey is as sweet as her name. She and Matilda form a strong bond as the small but courageous Matilda rallies her classmates to foil the terrible Miss Trunchbull.

Matilda is the award-winning product of the imaginations of Dennis Kelly and Tim Minchin, and 7th Street Kids is proud to be among the first to present the show since the recent release of its rights. 7th Street Kids’ 53 cast members dance and sing their way through energetic and memorably fun numbers that will engage all ages. This is one show you will not want to miss!

Directed by Julayne Fleury, with musical direction by Alex Eddy and choreography by Maija Nordin. 7th Street Kids is generously supported by Ingram, Zelasko, Goodwin, Attorneys-at-Law, Mark Rossetti State Farm, and show sponsors
