GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY, Wash. – The Grays Harbor County prosecuter’s office requested a supplemental budget at the County Commisioners meeting yesterday, this time ADDING money to the coffers, County Prosecutor Stew Menefee explained to the council that two of the three grants received are throught the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, "So essentially there were two grants that we got in, one was a ninety thousand dollar grant, and the other one was a twenty thousand dollar grant."

The larger restores prosecutorial staffing, and the second is for STOP Violence Against Women, both are to be spread across fiscal 09 and 2010.

Also the Drug Task Force has received an additional federal allocation amounting to 25 thousand, with 11 thousand for this year.

The letter to the board written by Budget Director Rose Elway said that the grants offset the contra entries wich funded deputy prosecutor staffing, and a legal secratary position.
