HOQUIAM, Wash. – The Grays Harbor Transit Authority adopted their 2012 budget last night. General Manager Mark Carlin said the budget does not predict an increase in sales tax revenue, and includes the purchase of 3 coach, and 4 mini buses mostly funded by grants. Carlin said the budget also includes a final payment of $177-thousand to the city of Aberdeen for demolition of the buildings near the Aberdeen bus station in 2006.

Also in the budget was $200-thousand for EMS Funding, a line item that received letters of support from first responders including Montesano Fire Chief Cory Rux “The Transit Fund set aside for the EMS in our county is extremely important, it goes to the initial certification of EMT’s in our county, all the communities get something from it.” Rux said the funding allows volunteers to get EMT Certified, and to maintain that certification.
