The suspect was described as a white male in his 40s, about 5-10 inches tall wearing a two tone baseball cap, a khaki jacket, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. This description is very similar to descriptions provided in the other robberies. Surveillance photos and other evidence obtained by detectives have linked the Kitsap Bank robbery to the following events:
1. On January 19, 2010, at about 6:36 PM a lone male robbed the Just Rewards Espresso in Port Angeles. The suspect walked up to the stand displaying a handgun demanding money. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
2. On January 25, 2010, at about 6:00 PM a lone male approached Steph’s Espresso in Shelton. The suspect again displayed a handgun demanding the barista place money in a bag. The suspect was last scene by the barista leaving on foot.
3. On February 1, 2010, at about 6:48 PM, All Star Espresso in Silverdale was robbed by a lone male suspect. The suspect approached the stand on foot and displayed a pistol in his waistband demanding money from the lone female barista.
Detectives were able to link the cases by careful work with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, Port Angeles Police Department, Shelton Police and the FBI. In each case victims provided information describing similar modus operandi and suspect physical descriptions. Investigators from all of the mentioned agencies continue to pursue leads in this case. Detectives are hoping for a quick resolution to these cases.
