  • H1N1 Clinic for Pregnant Women Available in South Bend

    South Bend, Washington – The H1N1 vaccine will be given to pregnant women residing in North Pacific County on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 9 am to 11 am.  The clinic will be held in the Pacific County Public Safety Building (behind the Courthouse) in South Bend.  No appointment is necessary. 
    The vaccine being offered is thimerosal free and is therefore safe for pregnant women.  There is no charge for the vaccine and again, this clinic is for pregnant women only.  You may call (360) 875-9343 if you need additional information.

  • Disaster Preparedness Kit Demonstration in Pacific County

    South Bend, Washington – Jackie Sheldon, a volunteer Tsunami Trainer for the Pacific County Emergency Management Agency, will provide instructions on how to build a disaster preparedness kit suitable for any circumstances on Friday, March 25, 2011, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the South Pacific County Administration Building, 7013 Sandridge Rd, Long Beach, WA, Conference Room A. 


    Jackie will be assisted by Robyn Baker West and both will demonstrate their personal preparedness kits providing options, suggestions, and advice for residents who wish to develop their own kits. 


    Information specific to building preparedness kits will be distributed; residents may bring their own kits for evaluation, and should bring pen and paper in order to take notes specific to their own needs.

  • Woman’s Body Identified, Search Continues for Second Victim

    GRAYLAND, Wash. – Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said that after investigating an uncloathed body that washed ashore in Grayland, they are now looking for a second victim of the mishap.
    The body of 47 Year Old Teri Dascher of Kingston, Wasington was found Friday morning. Scott said that Dascher and 51 year old John Phillip Stapp were last seen aboard the Connie B, a 25 foot Coronado Sail Boat, which set sail from King County and had spent the last few weeks under repairs at the Westport Marina.
    Scott said "At this point, the Coast Guard has not located the wreckage, nor have we located him" According to friends and family of the two, the boat left sometime around October 16th, headed for the South Pacific.
