Aberdeen man stabbed in his home

Aberdeen police are investigating a stabbing Friday afternoon, Police Captain John Green tells us at about 4:25 P.M. they were called to the hospital on the report of a patient with a stab wound. A 52 year old Aberdeen man told investigators that he was at his home in the 1900 block of Aberdeen Ave drinking with some other subjects when he said he was stabbed for no reason by a subject who was at the house. The victim was taken into surgery.
A few minutes later Aberdeen Police Officers received another report from a person at the scene that a stabbing had occurred at a home in the 1900 block of Aberdeen Ave.
The investigating officers were told by subjects at the house that a group had been drinking together for some time. According to those at the scene, a male subject in the group began stabbing the victim for no apparent reason.
The suspect fled the residence. The victim drove himself to the hospital. It was confirmed that the victim in the first report was the same person who was reported stabbed in the second report.
The investigation is continuing.

Tips sought in Aberdeen shooting that sends one to hospital, one to jail

Aberdeen Police investigate assault

Aberdeen police investigated a shooting this morning that sent one to the hospital, Police Captain John Green tells us at about 3 this morning they responded to reports of 4 to 5 people fighting at the Travel Lure Hotel on Wishkah Street. Arriving officers found evidence of a weapon being fired at the scene.
Green said a 37 year old Taholah male was located in a room and appeared to have gun shot wounds. The Aberdeen Fire Department treated and then transported the victim to the GH Community Hospital.

A Cosmopolis Officer that responded found a 17 year old Aberdeen man with a a concealed semi-automatic handgun, he was arrested on a bench warrant and taken to the Aberdeen Police Department. The handgun was seized.

Officers described three other men of interest as about 17 to 21 years of age, possibly Hispanic or Native American, described as wearing all black jackets, shorts, and baseball style hats.
They apparently fled right after the victim was shot, in a 1996 to 1999 Honda Accord with dark tinted windows and alloy wheels.

Aberdeen Detectives were called out and are continuing to process the scene, Wishkah Street in front of the Travel Lure was closed until about 7:00 A.M.

Family argument nets Aberdeen arrest after man allegedly holds knife to his sister’s throat

Aberdeen police arrested a man who allegedly held a knife to his sister’s throat during an argument Sunday evening. Police Captain John Green tells us they were called to a home in the 2100 block of Cherry street just after 6 Sunday.

A 34 year old man was apparently arguing with his 42 year old sister, both live at the home. Green said two others in the home reported the suspect displayed a knife and put it to his sister’s throat. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was arrested without incident on a charge of Assault in the First Degree.

Aberdeen murder victim and suspect identified, investigation continues

Police have released the name of the woman who called 911 from an Aberdeen home early Saturday where officers found a man’s body.
Police Captain John Green tells us they both lived at the home, in the 1400 block of Cherry street. Just before 5 Saturday morning, 45 year old Leah Thompson called 911 and made incriminating statements to dispatchers. Responding officers said Thompson also made statements to them before they entered the home and found 63 year old Harold David Crabtree dead, the victim of several apparent stab wounds.

Green said they were not certain of the relationship between the two, Thompson will be arraigned today in Aberdeen court, she faces second-degree murder charges.

Aberdeen police respond to possible shooting, uncooperative victim, and mystery wound

Aberdeen police were called to the South side 76 gas station last night to the reports of a possible shooting. Multiple police cruisers, and aid cars were on scene until after 8 last night.

Police Captain John Green said responding officers contacted a 28 year old Aberdeen man who had a wound to the center of his chest. The man was treated at the scene by AFD but did not require transport to the hospital. The victim was not cooperating with the officers at the scene, Green said the man told officers he was at the side of the Sunshine Deli when he was approached by a man he knew. The victim said he was shot in the chest at that time. The suspect fled on foot.

It does not appear that the victim was shot with a conventional firearm at this time. It is unknown what exactly caused the mans injury other than it was some type of projectile.

The investigations is continuing.

Search for burglar in Aberdeen turns up vandalized U-Haul, no suspect

Aberdeen police searched the West side this morning for a man who was seen running from Thai Smiles in the 100 block of N. Park Street.
Police Captain John Green tells us juest before 6 this morning, they responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress. A Responding officers saw a male fleeing the area on foot. He was described as a Hispanic male, about six foot, thin build, wearing a black leather jacket, grey hoodie, blue jeans and white athletic shoes.
Green said he fled Northbound from the scene. A witness reported seeing the suspect jump into a red Geo Metro car and then flee Northbound on Washington Street.
Officers also located a U-Haul truck that had a damaged ignition and dashboard.

Aberdeen Police seek info on attempted child abduction

Aberdeen Police are looking for tips on a possible attempted kidnapping yesterday in the 500 block of W. Huntley Street. Police Captain John Green tells us just before 4 P.M.Wednesday they were called to the 500 block of W. Huntley on the report of a 10 year old girl reporting that an unknown male attempted to remove her from the area.
Investigating officers were told that the victim and her brother stepped off the school bus near their home. The victim reported going to the mail box. At that time she said an unknown man grabbed her and told her to go with him. The victim said she yelled and hit the man. It was reported that the suspect fled the area on foot.
The suspect was described as a white male, 5-5 to 5-7, long oily blond hair, slim build. He was described as wearing a black coat and blue jeans with rips in them, and sandals with blue socks.
A K-9 was brought into the area to conduct and track. The area was canvassed and the school bus driver was interviewed. The suspect was not located.
