We are having a Dia De Los Muertos Party here at the Aquarium from 5:30 to 7:30 on Friday evening November 1st 2013. The focus is remembering fisherman of the past and fish we have caught that were so beautiful that they deserve a special memory. We will have recipes, and cooking demonstrations for how cook with fish meat on the bone (fish carcasses) and lots of good food and live music. There will be Art displayed and for sale by local artists. There will be a pumpkin carving contest. Admission to the aquarium is free for this event. COSMOPOLIS, Wash. – The Gores Group, LLC, a leading Los Angeles-based private equity firm, today announced that it led an investor group that includes Dermot Smurfit, a paper and packaging industry veteran, in the acquisition of the Cosmopolis high purity cellulose mill from Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE: WY). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. “The Cosmopolis mill has a wonderful heritage of producing very high quality products and we are delighted to operate this mill alongside a management team that has substantial experience restarting and managing similar mills,” said Jordan W. Katz, managing director of The Gores Group. “We are proud to be leveraging our resources to restore the Cosmopolis mill and create new jobs in the Cosmopolis area.”
Located in Cosmopolis, Washington, the high purity cellulose (also known as dissolving wood pulp) mill will operate under the name of Cosmo Specialty Fibers, Inc. LOS ANGELES – (Business Wire) Over 1.2 million pounds of food were collected from food drives around the country under Participant Media’s and DoSomething.org’s “Feed the Need” program, in which more than 26,000 young people took part. Participant Media, the leading provider of content that inspires and compels social change, and DoSomething.org, an organization dedicated to empowering young people to take action in their communities, partnered for the social action initiative inspired by the upcoming film The Soloist.
Throughout November and December, young people across the country registered their local food drives on DoSomething.org. Over 400 schools nationwide signed up, with individual schools collecting over 40,000 pounds of food. The five highest-collecting drives won $1,000 grants for an arts or music program for young people in their school or community and one grand prize winner also won a screening of The Soloist for their group.

ABERDEEN, Wash. – The behavioral health program located at Grays Harbor Community Hospital’s East Campus was recently dedicated to R. Bruce Worth, M.D. after 30 years as Medical Director of the facility. The dedication took place on Thursday, September 19th, 2013.
Originally opened in February of 1983 as the CareUnit at St. Joseph Hospital, this Chemical Dependency program delivers a comprehensive system of treatment specifically designed to meet the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of the alcoholic or “chemically dependent” patient. “Chemically dependent” patients are defined as those with a condition in which the use of mood altering chemicals is associated with problems in any area of life, on a more or less continuing basis. The program currently offers group therapy sessions, one-on-one sessions with therapists, psychologists, and nursing staff as well as support programs for families and others affected by alcoholism.
Worth has overseen this unit as the Medical Director since its opening in 1983. His interest in assisting those struggling with addiction grew when he learned of his own sister’s announcement to their family that she was an alcoholic.
