Kelly Clarkson's Baby Bump on Display During Easter Boating Outing

By Andrea Dresdale

Justin Lubin/NBCEver since Kelly Clarkson announced she was expecting, glimpses of her baby bump have been rare. But this past weekend, she was out and about with her pregnant belly definitely on display.

US Weekly has photos of Kelly on a boating outing with her husband Brandon Blackstock and his family, including his stepmother, country superstar Reba McEntire. She was wearing black leggings, flip-flops and a long salmon-colored tunic with a black and white bow printed on the belly. Later, she wore a white top which showed off her belly even more.

That same day, Kelly and her group were spotted dining at a Cracker Barrel restaurant, according to the magazine. “Happy Easter everybody! We celebrated on the lake today. Loving the sun, family and friends!” she tweeted.

It’s not clear exactly when Kelly and Brandon are expecting their baby girl, though she announced in November that she was expecting. Earlier this month, she tweeted, “There’s something very cool yet very creepy about a baby moving inside your belly. Regardless, I’m pretty sure she’s gonna be a gymnast.”

Ryan Tedder: Creating a Hit Single Is Like Making Chicken Parmesan for a Million People

By ABC News Radio

Interscope RecordsWhen it comes to crafting hit singles, Ryan Tedder‘s got a pretty great track record, creating hits by Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Adele, Leona Lewis and, of course, his own band, OneRepublic. What’s his secret? Ryan thinks that coming up with a single isn’t just like writing any old song: he compares it to throwing a dinner party…for a million people.

Ryan tells the BBC, “Singles are like making a meal for your 40 closest friends, if not a million more. You’ve invited a million of your closest friends to come dine at your table and have your chicken Parmesan.”

He adds, “Every detail has to be right. And wipe the plates — you’re preparing a meal for a million people!”

“Album tracks can be beautiful, too, but don’t confuse the categories,” Ryan continues. “Don’t get upset when your six-minute song doesn’t work as a first single.”

Ryan and OneRepublic are currently gearing up to release a brand-new, non-album single called “Love Runs Out.” Let’s hope it’s delicious.

Booted "American Idol" Contestant Reveals Advice from a Past Champ that Came Too Late to Save Her

By Andrea Dresdale

Michael Becker/FOXAmerican Idol continues Wednesday night on Fox as the remaining 12 contestants perform songs with the theme of “Home.” But the woman who actually went home last week — Wild Card contestant Kristen O’Connor — wonders what would have happened if last week, she hadn’t been talked out of doing the song she really wanted to do.

Kristen and contestants Malaya Watson and MK Nobilette ended up in the bottom three last week, but Kristen says she thinks both she and Malaya suffered because of their song choices. “We both took advice from [the] production [team] on our song choices, and she felt like she didn’t really connect with her song…and me too,” reveals Kristen. “Because the connection with the song is so important and when it’s not authentic, I think America can see that.”

Kristen explains that she initially didn’t consider singing the Kelly Clarkson tune “Beautiful Disaster” — it was actually suggested to her by the production team.

“I had three songs in mind that I had planned on singing; the one I ended up singing wasn’t one of those songs,” Kristen says, referring to “Beautiful Disaster.” …read more

"American Idol" Recap: The Top 13 Perform "This Is Me" Songs

By ABC News Radio

FOXWednesday night on American Idol, the top 13 performed for the viewers and for judges Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban. For the first time, fans were able to vote immediately after the performances.

The theme of the night was “This Is Me.” Contestants were asked to perform songs that best defined them.

Dexter Roberts kicked things off by playing “Aw Naw,” by country artist Chris Young, on his guitar. Keith and Jennifer both thought it was a fine cover, but wished Dexter had put his own spin on it. Harry suggested that Dexter show off more of his personality.

The bespectacled Malaya Watson took on Bruno Mars‘ “Runaway Baby.” J-Lo graded Malaya’s performance skills as an “A-plus,” though she added it wasn’t the teen’s best vocals. Harry invoked his favorite word, “intonation,” and sensed she was a little nervous.

Kristen O’Connor performed “Beautiful Disaster,” a track off former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson‘s debut album, Thankful. Harry called her a strong pop singer, but he questioned whether she properly conveyed the meaning of the lyrics, about a woman accepting a man despite his faults. Kristen replied that she intended for the …read more
